When you need cloning vs ISN reset vs programming
Cloning — both original and replacement TCMs must have OBD communication. This is the fastest plug & play option.
ISN Reset / Virginise — when original TCM is dead/unreadable: we reset the ISN on a donor TCM you supply, then program it.
Programming — sometimes required when part numbers differ or full ECU synchronisation is needed. Programming may require sending additional modules or bringing the car in.
What you must send / provide
For Cloning: send both TCM units (label “original” & “replacement”) — both must communicate via OBD.
For ISN Reset (virginise): send the replacement TCM (used/new) — we can reset ISN if possible. If keys or engine ECU sync are required, we’ll ask for those.
For Programming (on-car): either bring the car to us or send the TCM plus vehicle key(s), engine ECU, and immobiliser module (CAS/FEM/BDC) — required for secure ISN/immobiliser synchronisation.
